Goats continue to increase in popularity and with this increase, the number of questions asked that relate to what goats will and won't eat is increasing as well. It has largely been believed that goats can and will eat everything in their sight. Nothing could be further from the truth. The curious nature of the goat is largely responsible for this myth.
Over the years I have done a great deal of research on this very subject: goats and plants - what they will and won't eat (and to a greater degree, what they shouldn't eat). This section will be the ongoing results of my research. This section will also be useful for those individuals (and companies) who have taken interest in using goats for clearing weeds off of parcels of land (known as mitigation) for control issues such as fire, noxious weeds, etc. As I mentioned, I continue to research this subject as time allows and this section contains my "final draft" articles. You can find my further ongoing research in my Goat 911 Message Forum under the topic of Weedeaters Corner. |
