While we are on the topic of plants, I was wondering if you could help with a question I have been wondering about. I live in TN, and we recently fenced in a new area for our goats. There is a LOT of what southerers call Poke Salad. (I don't think that that is the actual name of the plant) The plant grows about six feet tall and produces purple berries. When we bought our goats the owners of the goats said the this plant was poisonious and the goats would die if they ate it. Well we eat it all the time here; we boil it and eat it raw. When boiled it taste like spinich.Possibly they say it is poisonious because of the berries, but my brother ate some of them when he was little and never got sick. If anyone knows what I am talking about feel free to post.
Thanks,
Brooke
