I have just read somewhere that when you run goats and sheep together you are at risk for something called "scrapie." Can anyone please clarify what this is. I have one pregnant Alpine doe who runs with my six Corriedale sheep. She has been with them consistantly off for the past 3 years. I did lose one doe about 3 months ago (causes unknown) and she also ran with the sheep. Is my last doe at risk?
