I live in the ozarks with lots of hills and woods . I too work mostly by myself and electric is the only way to go . I use 4 strands of wire .
It can be a REAL PAIN to find out where it gets grounded out at tho , lol but like mentioned once they are bit by the fence a few times they leave it alone . The few times my fence has been down I have found it . Not the goats .I check it weekly . I also have a 6 volt back up charger for power outages .On my inside and cross fencing 2 strands seem to work well too
