I agree with Kay. I am north of Houston in Cleveland. The mistake started with the monthly wormings. Ivomectin simply can't be used like that around here. It is a good wormer if you have purchased your stock from folks who fecal, used monthly it quickly stops working. You have to remember that Ivomectin, TBZ paste and Tramisol were the only wormers we had to use for years, they were used incorrectly to the point, that even though we now have correct information on using Ivomectin orally (we used to inject it), TBZ paste is off the market, but some of the classes of wormers that are very similar like Panacur and Safeguard (bensazole like TBZ) are still not going to work. Safeguard around here is better used squirting it on the ground to kill individual worms!! :) I am teasing, but we simply don't use it.

I would recommend the Valbazen drench at 8cc per 100 pounds, weigh tape and always go for the higher weight. Say your doe weighs 179, worm her with 16cc by mouth as if she weighs 200 pounds. Not the 14cc like she weighs 175 pounds.

We haven't had to start using cydectin Pour on (it is used orally at 1cc per 25 pounds) because in our bloodline, Ivomectin still works orally at 2cc per 100 pounds. 3 of my does who come from the Bryan/College Station area, are resistant to Ivomectin. After you worm, 10 days later pick up 7 fresh worm eggs with a zip lock baggie and take into your vet, to see if your worming worked. Then simply check a fresh fecal monthly to see when you need to worm next. I have a freind in your area, old Nubian breeder, now with Boers, she had beautiful Nubians, (haven't seen her boers though I do know she is grass feeding them, little or no grain) if interested in Linda K. number contact me privately.
