Im in the same situation as Jilly i have a five year old doe who is ready to have her kids and this is my first time . I dont know when she was bred or if she has been bred before . i have only had her for about 2 months. she was passed on from person to person before she found a permanant home with us her udders are quite engorged and there she is discharging bright red mucus , but her vulva is not swolen , her ligaments have loosened , and the babie(s) are not active . i first notices the dischage yesterday afternoon around 3:00 pm that was 17 hours ago and I have not seen any other visible signs of labour since then.should i hit the panic button now or am just being paranoid ???
