Thanks so much to everyone for the replies. I have printed them out and have them all ready for the vet!

I am lucky in that my vet specializes in large animals and is making an extra effort to learn all he can about goats. His office is his truck so he comes to me! The procedure we were intending to do is the burdizzo....now I'm not so sure! It's good to have options!

I feel safer about my Noel now. He's such a gentle creature and so protective toward the smaller goats that I would hate to lose him. He isn't worth any money but he's worth keeping for other reasons. And you're right, I could never afford to spend a fortune on him and luckily, my vet has yet to charge me that much! If I told you how much he told me he'd do this procedure for you wouldn't believe me anyway! It'll more than likely be done before the end of February so I'll let you know how it goes!

Thanks again! You guys are great!
