Hi Bill, Without an xray or at least a knowledgeable pair of hands on the doe, we simply don't know what is wrong with her. She could have simply pulled or strained something, or even fractured her hip! How long would it take you to get over something like this? Any feeds that would help you? I am really just kidding, but the answer is no. If you aren't going to take her to the vet than, I would give her something like Buteless in the Jeffers Equine Catalog 1800-jeffers to take the edge off her pain, and also a supplement like MSM and Glucosomine and Chondroiton to help with the swelling in the hip. You should also blanket her, even a sweatshirt with the sleeves cut off will work, so she doesn't use her calories to just keep warm. Getting her up and moving is very important, and so is rest. It would at least be 6 to 8 weeks for a human to recover, maybe less for your goat. Obviously just guessing here. Oh! and the stress of all of this would make it a time to think about worming, and also keep her feet trimmed and level. Listen to her lungs and make sure the non movement doesn't let pnemonia set in. Vicki
