recommended in books, but I could never get mine to relax and allow me to do it that way. It usually resulted in a variety of black and blues for me!
I put a collar and lead rope on mine, and snug her head into the corner of the wooden paddock fence behind our barn. As I press her body against the fence boards, Hubby can lift a leg and trim the hoof. Then I just push her against the boards on the opposite side of the corner and get the other two hoofs trimmed. Since I only have the two pet goats, it's not a big deal to do it this way.
I must say, getting those hoof trimmers from Caprine Supply certainly made the job easier!
