Not a problem!! I put the collars and lids together and put them in a pot. Cover with hot water and bring it just to a boil. I remove the lids from the hot water with tongs and place on the jars and put them in the canner. My mom always said this helped the lids to seal better. I don't know why it should but I'm old enough to know that my mom isn't as wrong as I thought she was in my younger days! I don't question it. I just do it!

You can save up several days of milk before canning it. I don't know how much you know about canning but to the experienced I'm stating the obvious here....make sure you warm the milk a little before placing the jars in a bath canner full of hot water! Cold Milk + Hot Water = Horrible Cracking Sound/Big Mess to Clean Up!!

I remove the collars from the jars when I'm putting them up for storage and use the collars again. The actual lids can't be used again.

Hope that helped. Any more problems and you can email me privately!
