O.K. first you were at the show, so you had to be curious. Secondly there are all sorts of folks at shows like Bernice said. Now if you had been talking to me, I would have pointed out the recorded grade class, which is a class you can show your does in once recorded with ADGA. As long as they are not knowingly out of meat breeds. I would have also pointed out to you, with your input, how to improve the stock you have at home, which honestly rarely is with an unregistered buck. Say your doe is steep in the rump, to level the rump are you going to use a buck down the road who has a level rump? Or how about a purebred from my farm who has generations of daughters with excellent on their paperwork in the rump area? With 10+ pounds of milk is she carrying her udder high and tight between her thighs like the does in the show? If not you can breed to a buck who is known for these high and tight attachments. Is your doe a little shorter than you would like. Cause Kay has very tall Nubains :) Get the idea?

Yes it is a shame but the fact is registered stock is more valuable, dollar wise only, but then value to somebody who wants house milk and her doe is milking 10+ pounds is very valuable to her! Valuable to me is making a nice profit off of registered stock, I didn't have to work out of my house, was able to raise my 3 kids, and have them show their and my wonderful animals. We all love our stock, nobody could do all of the stuff we all do without that love! Vicki
