It all depends on his size. A big Nubian wether of 5 months you simply couldn't fit the testicles, even one at a time through the band. And I would opt instead for a vet to castrate him, and hopefully a vet who has done so many that they know that you DON'T sedate them. A shot of banamine or something for pain is fine, but you don't put them under for this. I rarely castrate anymore, but when I did I made the decision on who was going to meat and who would have a chance at being sold for a breeder, way before 8 weeks old. Vicki
