I absolutly love our vet. They have goats themselves and there are a lot of people in our area that have them, so we are luckey and are able to feel good about their diagnosis.

When we first got our first 6, I went out and they all seemed fine, I came home like maybe 3 hrs later to them vomiting green and severe diareah and they were screaming in pain, it was a Sunday, and I immediatly called the vet, I didn't know what else to do, to me it looked like they were poisoned, but I had no idea from what, we checked our woods etc before we got the goats. Anyway as soon as I called him he suspected that they got into Meadow Laurel which we had no idea what it was. As soon as he got here (which seemed like an eternity) he went straight out into the woods and found one plant, with the leaves pretty much all gone, he told us exactly what to do to get rid of the plant (which was the only one there) and treated the goats for pain and I don't remember what else, but he gave them 2 seperate shots. We were luckey, they all survivied, which means that they did not get enough of it in their system and we caught it in time.

I have never seen realized how goats can scream, I was in the house and almost crying trying not to listen to them as they would not me get close enough to try and comfort them (can you tell I baby my goats (smile)..

Anyway I didn't mean to get into this long story, I just wanted to say, that we are luckey to have a good vet, that knows about goats, I don't know what I would have done without him that day!!++++
