We used the same method as Cygnet detailed out in his post (ps...LOVE those names!!). Patience, and gentle hand, and a slow walk are the keys. You don't want to teach your goat that everytime it has a collar or halter on it's going to get yanked/jerked around, and negatively treated. This will make the goat learn the collar/halter means something negative, not new adventures.

My son took Reserve Grand Champ in a recent Showmanship competition, so it seemed to work well for us. His LaMancha doe took right to walking, and showing, setting up, etc... She "turns on the show look/attitude" when she shows too.
