swollen knees

i have a 5yr old nubian doe that has swollen knees, when I first noticed it 2 days ago, only the left one was affected, and her left front hoof was peeled back a little around the bottom. I thought perhaps she had gotten her foot caught in something. Tonight when I went out to milk, both knees are swollen and feel like there is fluid under the knee pads, any ideas?
