Finally, my own thoughts in print.
Range goats they are not. But, how many of the people raising are on the range? And they do certainly put meat on and grow fast. And if you want an 1/8 boer in your kids someone is going to have to be raising the full-bloods.
For range purposes I think the Kiko is going to come into its own.
They don't get the huge guts the older boers get and in the back country they are excellent mothers and don't need barns to kid if they have brush. And the Spanish you guys have down there are some of the best mothers I have seen. The 3 I was lucky enough to get are all nursing their kids into 5 mos and still fight any threat to them. I am crossing them with Kiko.
The thing you guys in Texas seem to see all the time is that the Kiko and Spanish will actually dress right up their with the boer.
