If the bubble is what you are seeing with amber colored fluid in it and blood veins running through it that is the sac the kid is in.
Has she started arching or pushes yet.
Have you ever seen a vaginal prolapsed uterus looks like a red ball.

I have never seen a plug like this. I am also not aware if her water has broken or not. This protrusion almost looks like a swollen blood vessel (inch in diameter). I'm afraid of rupturing it by pushing it aside to insert my finger. Would the kid be active if she was in labor? Her ligatures are soft around her tail, belly is tight, and breathing rapidly.

\If she is not pushing that maybe because the kid is turned wrong.
You may need to go in and see what you can feel.

If is a dull color red that means a dead kid.
If it amber colored which means a light colored tan that means she is getting ready to kid.

Are you saying it is a thick rusty colored blood?

The discharge is a deep red in color, but nearly translucent when I shine the light on it. It began as what looked like a leakage (drip!?) but has thickened as it emerges. It seems to have a lighter mucous coating on the outside. There is no bright red blood. She is not bearing down, so it is very slow coming out.

It is ropy and bloody. Her tail is also crusted with a bloody discharge.

Hi,
Does this look and feel like after?
Or is it a ropy bloody discharge?

I have a 2 year pygmy female of small stature. This is her first time kidding. In the past, all my kids have been born to experienced does without difficulty, so I'm not sure what to do in this situation! She has all the signs of labor. What concerns me is that she has something protruding from her vagina that resembles afterbirth. I have never seen anything like this before. She began expelling this about an hour ago. She does not seem to be in distress, and it seems as if the babies are moving. Help! I do not know if I should interfere or leave her alone. Please advise!!!
