HI, Ivomec is 1cc/25 lbs dose accordingly orally repeat once a day for three days. Now he is blind are his eyes white or red that would be pink eye but if they are normal you are dealing with Polio. Barbara Howard Capri-Medic jamesa@mrtc.com 606-522-3388 KY

If his eyes are red and swollen and filmed over he has pinkeye. But I suspect he is coming down with listeriosis or polio and needs thiamin ASAP. You can give Fortified B Comples Injectable at 1 cc per 20 pounds by SQ injection every 2 to 4 hours for the first 24 hrs. Then give 2 o 3 times a day for the next 5 to 7 days. Give penicillin at 1 cc per 20 pounds by SQ injection every 4 hours for the first day and then 2 x day for 5 to 7 more days. Treatment needs to begin tonight. Permanent brain damage is already happening. Be sure he is eating or at least drinking. If he is not drinking but can swallow you can drench him with a turkey baster giving about 2 quarts per day divided up. Yu also need to treat th cause of the scours which is likely worms or coccidia. For cocci give a sulfa drug such as Sulmet or Albon 12.5% drinking water solution. Give 1 cc per 5 pounds for 5 days. For worms use Ivermectin Injectable for Cattle and give it orally at 1 cc per 25 pounds. You can give pepto bismol (the child dose) or kaopectate (the child dose) every 4 hours to help with the diarrhea, but this only treats the symptom not the cause. Maggie Leman Goat 911 Capri Medic
