Not yet that will amke it harder for her to stand up. She just doesn't have the strength yet to lift the front part of her body. We are seeing great progress and her strength is enough now that she moves allover the night enclosure with her hind legs completely extended but walking on her "knees" in front. Should we splint these front lower segments? | ||

Now that is good news. I had no idea the CMPK was corrosive to the skin. Thanks. I put her on a bale of straw and her front legs just kind of dangled. She can, and does, move them however so we will see. The hind legs are strong enough to push her off of the bale, she didn't like it. She can move the fronts but they are not nearly strong enough to support her. All other functions are fine and she is alert. Thanks | ||

Washing her mouth out and drenching with a bit water after giving the CMPK may also help with the burning and irritation. It can really tear up the membranes and make eating uncomfortable. Try giving B complex injectable too once or twice a day by SQ injection. Helps with nerve function and sooths the gut promoting appetite. Maggie Leman Goat 911 Capri Medic | ||

Right, I wasn't sure how much to give so have been drenching about 70cc. She is spitting out some of it so will back off the dose and increase the frequency. I really didn't know if this was the problem but researching through 911 I took a guess. We have done everything so now will focus on the hypocalcemia. Thanks | ||

SHould have a dose on the container. If it has a sheep dose use that. Or I would say figure it based on the dose for cattle (average cow is about 600 pounds or so). Maggie Leman Goat 911 Capri Medic | ||

You are doing all you can. You have to keep it up until she is back to normal or until she kids. You could induce but you may lose the kids not knowing when she is actually due. Drape her over a bale of hay to massage and flex her legs to keep the muscles and ligaments from becoming permanently atrophied. Maggie Leman Goat 911 Capri Medic | ||

Repeating my post. She is still on the ground. We have given "magic", Pedialite, CMPK. We are massaging her legs and brushing her coat to keep her feeling good. She eats well, deficates normally and responds to all stimuli. She still tries to get up but just cannot find the strength. Please help. There are no vets available on the weekend. | ||

I have a pregnant 14 month old Boer who had been acting lethargic (3 days). Today she cannot stand up. She is nibbling grass and sweet feed and her eyelids are pink. I have given 3cc of Ivomec anyway. Any help, please. |
