So... Hi Maggie...
It is 7:00 p.m. and has been another 5 hours SINCE SHE STARTED THE NEXT MUCOUS PLUG. She is eating, comfortable, has about a 10" mucous plug thick and sticky white, I went in a little bit again and nothing is open. I guess I cannot do anything except wait , is that right? I gave her 2cc fortified B complex orally and a small bit of red cell. She ate her grain and is eating her hay and drinking.
If you get this, could you keep in touch with me? After the C-section 2 weeks ago , I am a little concerned. PRAYING AND TRUSTING THE LORD TO TAKE CARE OF THIS.

Sure wouldn't hurt to give CMPK. You are right about the oxytocin (and your homeopathic remedy). I have NEVER given oxytocin to a doe in labor, only to one that hasn't passed her placenta.

Usually if a doe isn't pushing but should be something is worng with the position of the kid that oxytocin will only make worse. Pushing harder on a kid not lined up correctly will often rupture the uterus.

I also have the homeopathic equivalent to oxytocin .. Usually would not give it unless the cervex was open.

Right?
You don't give oxytocin before the cervex is open do you?

I tried to go in and I don't think the cervex is open yet. She is acting pretty normal, eating and everything. I gave her a dose of CMPK .

I think she has many kids. Should I give her CMPK? The string is small and in fragments. What am I checking for?

If the mucus was white thick and only a tiny bit this was likely her mucus plug. This would be fairly normal and she may kid today or tomorrow.

I have never regretted checking....

Yes go in and check, especially if the string of mucus was clearish and looked like raw egg whites. If it did she should have kidded within an hour or so after that. Her temp is low indicating possible hypocalcemia or shock.

Seems I certainly am having concerns lately.
I have a doe that showed the mucous string last night around 10:00 p.m. she was a little uncomfortable during the night but has not gone into labor. Should I be concerned? It is 13 hrs. Her temp is 101
thanks
