No it is not poisonous. Goats seem to like it and it is used as a medicinal herb. Topically it is said to help heal wounds. Taken in a tea it is said to flush excess water from the body, reduce inflammation, and is antimicrobial.

I need to expend my pasture for the goats, and found what I thought would be a great spot, but over the summer there grew an abundance of Goldenrod. Right now the young goats I have are reaching through the fence and trying to get to it. I checked the poisinous plant list and it is not listed. Is it poisinous to goats?
