I would treat the kids at least. Most adults have a good working immunity to coccidia.

Does this kid have a fever?

Not eating at all may be a sign of pneumonia or something else on top of a case of parasites.

Should I treat all the other goats the same way? Orally, not diluted in water. He didn't eat at all today. I had to force milk into him with a syringe. How fast does this work? Thanks so much with all your help.

Add it to one quart (4 cups of water) to make a 12% solution.

To make a 12% solution you would add a 1 pound pack to 1 gallon of water. Then you can use it the same as the liquid. Is it a one pound package of powder?

Maggie, all I was able to get was Sulmet powder for swine. I hope this is it. The directions say 1 teaspoon per 2 gallons of water. Is this what I'm doing or are you suggesting another way? Thanks.

You can wean as EARLY as 8 weeks but his dam wouldn't. Most of my does will nurse a kid regualarly until they are at least 3 months old and often 4 months old. And they grow better with milk still in their diet. Sulmet and Albon drinking water solutions are a liquid. I would deworm again being sure to give an adequate dose.

Okay, the feed store was out but picked it up at another store for me and I just called and they have it. I will get it and start everyone right away. If its a tablet how do I give that? I won't know until I pick it up. I was told I could have them weaned by 8 wks. I guess I will keep them on milk longer then. Today so far I couldn't get him to take milk. I hope he will later. Should I worm again? Thanks again!

I don't wean until they are 16 weeks old. He likely has coccidia (and maybe worms too) even if he doesn't have diarrhea. Treat by giving Sulmet or Albon 12.5% Drinking water solution (get this at the feed store it is labeled for use in Casttle and poultry). Use it undiluted and give 1 cc per 5 pounds for 5 days. You can give it in his milk. The heat doesn't usually cause a goat to go off feed, at least mine don't unless they are in serious trouble with heat stroke.

Maggie, I have a 7 week old buck kid and he's not himself. First I noticed him eating less than normal. I thought maybe it was the heat because last week it was very hot and humid. Now this week he doesn't want any grain and I went back to offering him more milk from a bottle and it was working and now this morning nothing. The others are almost weaned and I just don't know what else to do with him. Yesterday I gave him some nutridrench. I thought I would give him some more today with a shot of vitamin B. I will take his temp. and see from there. Any suggestions? I also wormed everyone with ivermectin. Please help he's losing weight.
