He may have goat polio, a thiamin deficiency. The only effective treatment for this is giving thiamin. You can use FORTIFIED B Complex injectable (this one has 100 mg/ml of thiamin check the label) and give it at 1 cc per 20 pounds every 4 to 6 hours for the first 24 to 36 hours, then give it 2 to 3 times a day for 5 to 7 more days. Give a probiotic to replenish the digestive microbes that make thiamin.

He may be weak from worms, laying around weakness when walking and low appetite may point to this. Check the lower inner eyelids for color, they should be deep rosy to salmon pink. If they are pale pink or even white he is very anemic. Deworm with Ivermectin Injectable for Cattle, give at least 1 cc per 20 to 25 pounds but give it orally. Do this for 2 to 3 days and repeat in 2 weeks. You must be sure to give enough, it is very safe even at 25 times this dosage. You can give B complex inejctable once a day to help heal his damaged gut and give goat nutridrench, RedCell for horses (give half the horse dose), or Geritol Liquid (give the adult dose) once or twice a day to help rebuild the iron in his blood.

A pasture may look lush to you but if the plants and grass are at maturity there is little nutrition. Goats are not grazers, they prefer brushy plants and don't like to graze on anything less that about a foot tall. Most goats also need a good quality hay and perhaps a bit of grain. They also need mineral supplementation as most parts of the country are deficient in one way or the other. If this is a boer they are very prone to copper deficiency and parasites.
