You can give lutalyse SQ. The dosage is 2-3 cc no matter the size of the goat, and you have to wait AT LEAST 10 days from the accidental breeding. Sure am glad you caught her in the act so to speak and she didn't wiggle back out, leaving you none the wiser. Could it be she wiggled under the gate? The space may not be anymore than 4 inches tall there but if it is a long gap they learn to kinda roll underneath it. Be aware goats can and will breed through the fence, I have had multiple kids to prove it from several different pairings.... Maggie Leman Goat 911 Capri Medic

Came home from church yesterday to find my 8 1/2 month old pygmy doeling in the buck pen. I know the deed was done. She is small for her age, was a bottle supplemented triplet who wiggled through the fence in search of a bottle. Didn't think she could possibly wiggle through 4x4 spaces into buck pen. She got there somehow. I know lutelyse can be given to abort...is the amount always 2cc. no matter weight and the waiting period is how long? Must this be given IM or will it work SQ? Her mom was small and had twins at 13 months old. I bought her bred. She had no problems but I can't see this pygmy doeling having kid(s) easily at 13 1/2 months. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks. |
