There is nothing you can get over the counter that is stronger for pain. If you can get banamine injectable from the vet (any vet) and give 0.1 cc per 10 pounds every 12 hours for a few days, but after that you run the risk of ulcers, even using the injectable. Do not give bute (for horses) to ruminants it just tears their stomach up and you have a goat with enterotoxemia on top of everything else. The right leg if it is broken in the area you say will likely not heal as it can't be immobilized well enough. May be dislocated too and needs to be put back to heal if he is to walk again. If he is down for more than 4 or 5 days his other leg muscles will start to atrophy to the point he won't be able to straighten his legs to stand up. I would give him about a week or so to see if he makes any improvement.

Thank you for your reply Maggie.

Up Date on his condition.
There are 2 injuries no broken skin but I can feel the joint and it is very hot and swollen.
The worst of the 2,is the joint below the pelvis and above the knee on the right and the joint just above the pastern on the left. I have set many a leg in the past and could splint the left side but he needs something for the pain. It is very painful to him as I can see him lurch when he tries to put any weight on it and he won't. He is down (I have him on a stall mat under him so that urine can run away from his body) but eating, drinking, temp 103.3°, every thing else seems fine except that he will not stand. I will be going to town today but both vets will probably be out with the cattle herds and this is "Cow Country...period". Please don't take that the wrong way they are both good men but goats just seem to be a nuisance to them.
Is there anything that I can get from the feed store for the pain? I got to bed at 5AM and up @ 10AM and must make the 70 mile journey to town. Again sincere thanks for the post.

I have a small buck in severe pain and the only thing I have in the house for pain is Tylenol or Advil; can either of these be given to a goat and how much? He weighs 73 lbs. He got caught in one of the toys that are in the kid corral 1st time ever this happened in over 6 years.
