Thanks Barbara, I have doused with Hoof n' Heel. Would that do the same except for the bandage?

I have had to cut away a large portion of the outer shell of a hoof due to it being separated from the frog. I cleaned out a lot of "junk" and applied some foot rot liquid. Question: The side of the frog is hard and crusty. Do I have to do anything to the side of the frog or will it heal itself as the shell grows back over it.
