Hello. I am new to GoatWorld and to Pygmy goats. I have a 15 month old who appears to be pregnant (2/3 for the price of 1!). She came to live with us about 3 months ago and the seller is pretty sure that one of the billies had his way with her, so that she would be due around Christmas time. Is there anything special I need to be giving her to eat? She seems very happy and healthy. Thanks for your help! |

What are you feeding her now? How much and how often do you feed these things? Does she have access to a good loose mineral for goats (not for sheep and goats)? Has she been dewormed and if so what was used and how much? Do you have a vet, she is a bit young to be pregnant. Is she is good flesh but not fat? Generally I don't change my pygmies feeding regimen until after they kid if they are in good flesh. I give grain twice a day about 1/2 to 1 cup per feeding, they have a pasture for browse and exercise and access to all the grass hay they want and a good mineral mix with adequate copper (about 1200 ppm) and selenium (58 ppm). Has she been vaccinated with her CDT? Maggie Leman Goat 911 Capri Medic
