I am putting an order together for goat supplies and vaccines, and I saw a listing for Caseous D-T vaccine for sheep. I went to the manufacturer's website, they list this for sheep but not for goats. Does anyone use this for goats? I've never had CL in my herd, but often wonder if I should vaccinate to protect them from new animals or possible infection at shows.

This vaccine is not good for goats. It can and usually does cause a large abscess at the site of the injection. The manufacturer recommends it not be used in goats.

Isolate all new animals for a month, spray your pens at shows with a bleach solution. Most shows do not allow any animals with active infections or scars in suspicious areas into the barn. Do not buy animals at the sale barn, this is where most CL infected animals go in the end.
