Hi,I used Penicillin 1cc/20 lbs sq twice a day for 7-10 days.
I also insert 4cc of penicillon into the infected sidr into orficie twice a day,
Strip her out good before using this. Also take a warm damp cloth and massage that side then put
some peppermint oil .

This is gangrenous mastitis and there isn't much you can do to save that side of the udder. The tissue is already dead. It will continue to peel off and will likely heal up with one side still functioning. You can read more about gangrenous mastitis on the saanendoah.com website at http://www.saanendoah.com/gmastitis.html

I have a doe (4 year old) that just freshened last week. I found clots in her udder at first (like mozzerella cheese), cleared them up and let twins nurse. Next day more clots. By that evening she was down, not eating and very weak. Blood in one side of udder, hard and no milk coming out. I took the babies away and started her on Today and LA200. After 2 days she was up, eating and drinking again. I am on day number 5 now, and the udder looks awful. I message and try to get milk - but not much other than the Today comes back out. I tried hot compresses. Her udder is hard, cold, purple and peeling. Do I need to give more Today (did 5 rounds), and do I continue with LA200? Is there anything else I can do for her? The other side of the udder is producing milk again. Temp is normal. I am worried about gangrene. Help, please...........
