She may not really be fat, you may be seeing her rumen more prominently because she is actually a bit thin. Is she bony over the backbone or smooth and well muscled? How about over the top of the hips? Take her temperature to see if she is subnormal (this could indicate hypocalcemia...)

You might try treating for polio, they can have a chronic case of this. Give Fortified B Complex at 1 cc per 20 pounds by SQ injection 3 times a day and see if she improves. If you CMPK you might dose her with this too in case she is hypocalcemic. Neither of these treatments will hurt if that is not her problem.

Copper deficiency would not cause her to tremble. The Golden Blend mineral has plenty of copper and zinc, and copper overdose is fatal, too much zinc binds copper so it isn't absorbed....So if you don't know how much of it she is eating be careful about giving extra copper or zinc.

Thank you... She is always fat looking but I can feel her ribs, she is sitting in a corner and shaking! The mineral I use is Golden Blend but I wonder if she is eating it? Many of the goats are eating it too well lately. Eyelids are great! She is eating and drinking fine. ?? Someone mentioned copper deficency??

She sounds dehydrated (tight skin). Is she eating and drinking well? Is she in good flesh not too thin or too fat? Look at her lower inner eyelids, are they bright deep pink? If they are pale she is wormy.

What kind of mineral supplement does she have access to? Your minerals need to be offered in balanced proportions, each one depends on another being in certain porportion to be absorbed and used well. What kind of and what amount of feed and hay?

Hello:
I have a problem with a doe. She is loosing her hair , her skin is tight, and she trembles. This is also a doe that aborted about 2 months ago. I am starting zinc for now but wondered if there is something else I could look at .. some friends recommend the copper bolus but I am not trained yet in that.
thanks much
