I don't let my goats walk in the lime, it can cause burning and irritiation. Your floor will do alot of drying out just during the day. it won't dry much if the goats are back in the barn peeing all over.

On nice days when I am at home I lock the goats out of the barn to save the bedding and cut down on the amount of pee. I rake the shavings way from the wet spots to let them dry.

I strip my barn weekly, I got tired of the 2 to 3 times a year back breaking, nose curling, all freaking weekend clean out and I find I have ALOT fewer flies in the summer when I clean out completely and spread the used bedding at least once a week.

We are cleaning out the barn since the weather has warmed up and we have lime to put on the floor. Can we put it down along with Stall Dry and let the goats walk/lay on it? The bag says to use gloves (it's agricultural lime)so I wasn't sure if it would hurt them. We have a clay floor and it is pretty wet so I didn't want to put bedding down until it dries up. Thanks for the help. JC
