Thank you so much for your response. The first buckling that died acted
kind of disorientated the day it died--stiff, too, if I remember correctly.
We thought at the time that he had been kicked by a pony, but now I am
having my doubts. The second one that died, looked fine in the morning, the
afternoon he had trouble getting up, and died that evening. I gave it a
shot of antibiotic, which possibly wasn't the right thing to do. Neither
one of them showed runny stools or acted funny prior to the day they died.
The last one seemed fine (although small and somewhat lackluster) and was
found dead in the early morning. We didn't notice any of them having
discomfort while urinating.

We examined all of the goats, boer and nubian. Nutmeg (the goat with the
scabby skin) has VERY VERY DRY SKIN all over, and down the backbone, it is
lumpy, hard clumps which can be pulled off if you really try. These small
clumps can be pulled off--skin and all--this is MANGE, isn't it?!! I have
just been reading about mange, and it seems to fit. What can be done about
this?...... She is our best nubian and we love her dearly. One other goat
has dry skin, but has not developed any of the other lumps and scales like
Nutmeg.

The other goats definitely showed signs of having bugs or creatures on them.
ALL of the boar goats had a very small bug--it has a brown head and goldish
clear body with lines running across the body. I can not see what the head
really looks like. They are definitely not black. Our purebred boer buck
looks as though he has some type of white egg and some of these bugs on his
skin--he (the buck) is very small, always seems to have a runny nose (I
thought that this may be fairly typical of bucks, however) and seems to lack
energy. I can not see any other type of bugs on Nutmegs skin, but she is
brown in color, and the bugs that we found on the other goats are tannish
brown in color, so I might not be able to see them on her.

Our little boer buck, which was born on Jan. 1, does have a few black bugs
which look as though they get a body that fills with blood. Some had a
smaller body, and some a little larger--is this lice? This little buck is
large, broad, and beautiful, but he does seem to have a scratching problem.

The feed does not have urea in it.
