Maybe I am being naive and have just been lucky BUT my (human) daughter has an antibiotic resistant infection and has had it for 6 years.The changed my mind about antibiotics and immune systems. I had been so careflu not to expose my puppies or baby to anything 'bad' that I was having them get sick at the first contact with a microbe.
I now practise what I call 'reasonable' animal husbandry. My puppies and kids are not protected and disinfected like I used to. I beef up there immune systems with extra C and zinc,etc. I have not had a sick animal here for a long time,in contrast to a friend of mine who is obsseive about disinfecting,like I used to be. And whose adult dogs get sick everytime they go to a show.
I'd like to hear from experts on your experiences....
