I know that on my e-group, we try to set up a time once a week for a scheduled "evening of social chatting" where a time is announced and a date for an upcomming group chat.

Just a thought - maybe a little banner or small announcement could go up on the start page setting up a time and date for organized chats? May be easier for some folks to find some other people to chat with and maybe even announce a "topic of the week" to address as a converstation starter?

Just food for thought :-)
