I don't claim to be a goat expert. I also have a life other than goats. I have four children and they all play sports, so I stay in the road. However, I have raised Boer goats since 1997 and have had very good luck with them. So, now that I have given you my qualifications, I'll tell you what has worked for me. There is NO perfect worming routine from what I have heard, it depends on a number of factors. I worm my goats approx every 3 months with Ivomec and alternate some with Safeguard. Alternating worming products will help to keep the worms from building up a ressitance to the medication. I am always listening out for new and better products, because I think worming rank high on the priority list. Dr. Jeffers (JeffersLivestock.com) is presently saying that Cydectin is the best goat wormer on the market. I have not tried it yet, but plan to. I feed a commercial goat feed manufactured by a local farmer in my county. It is in excess of 14%. I also feed some hay, which they seem to enjoy. I have been told by more experienced Boer ranchers that whole corn (sometimes found in horse feed) can cause urinary tract problems in billys. Some goats have a tendancy to need more hoove care than others. I check and trim, if needed, at the same time I am doing the worming. I have had a goat or two, that required trimming in between worming. Another thing that I routinely do is vaccinate against tetanus and overeating disease. I use Bar-Vac CD/T from Jeffers. Goatworld is full of folks that I'm sure could give you a great deal more information than I can. However, this is what has worked for me...and it did not cost you a dime. Good Luck.
