We live in SW Florida and have the same problem; to double matters, I have free-range poultry, so it's doubly hard to treat the ants with them roaming around. My husband, however, this past weekend found some liquid "Sevin". So, this weekn he has been spraying everything with that. Can't tell you at this point if it will work or not, but we're trying it anyway! I'm not sure if he found it at Home Depot or Wally World. You may want to check with your vet, also - I know mine doesn't have too much of a problem with Sevin - in moderation, and in the past I have used the powder in the pens with no problem.
