I'm not sure I will be of much help, since the problem could be the result of a number of things. However, we had a goat a few years ago that developed symptoms similar to the ones you have noticed. This was a auction goat that we had only had for a short period of time. There was imflamation around the hooves and the goat had great difficulty in walking. We treated the goat for footrot, but was never sure that was the problem. However, after a couple of weeks of treatment the goat had a full recovery. One symptom of footrot is a noticeable odor. You might try, if you haven't already, to clean the hooves and examine very carefully. Looking for any type of object that may be imbedded and smell for a rotting type of odor. Sometimes goat just play hard and will hurt themselves and hobble some, but after a few days all is okay. Hopefully your problem is minor and only temporary. Wish I could be or more help.
