I am a newbie too,but I am trying the deep bedding method (where you keep adding layers on top and only clean out the very wet stuff if neccessary)I get very dry oat straw from my neighbors father -in-law. I love this stuff and the goats do too(they eat it and pick trhough looking for left over oat heads)Right now though nothing is dry we've had torrential rains for a week straight,everything is muddy and they track in water when they come in from outside. I finally went to the deep bedding method when I noticed my cashmere's weren't sleeping in the barn but on top of the old bedding pile outside.Now they sleep in the barn with the rest of the crew-even though I leave to door open now.
