Hello Dalice,

I have heard of this too but I'd have to offer the following observations, mostly that pennies do not contain as much copper as they used too. I should know this but I can't remember offhand. I believe it was some time in the 70's when they changed the content of pennies to include more zinc (and cheaper metals - a penny was becoming worth more than a penny due to copper content). The older wheat back pennies had more copper (except for the 1943 steel pennnies). Of course you might use a 1964-D penny, they made billions of them and they contained pretty much the same amount of copper as the wheat backs - LOL. The other observation is that dogs and goats have a different digestive system. A penny might not go through a goat as easily as a dog. Chances are it would get caught in the second or third stomach and emulsify. On a brighter note, if the goat is lacking in zinc it will get an ample amount. Curious to see what others have to say regarding this. Thank you for sharing it.

Best regards,

Gary
