I have a three Saanen does, two of which I bred to my buck in early September. The third, a now seventh month old doe, came into heat once on September 29th. At the time, she was too young to breed, so I decided to wait a few more cycles before breeding her. But she never came back into heat!!
We have had some odd weather here...it is much colder in north Texas this fall than in past years and it has been rainy and cloudy every day for nearly three weeks. Could this play a factor?
I don't see how she could have been bred by my buck. They are in adjoining pens, but unless he has figured out how to "get things done" through the fence, I sincerely doubt that she is pregnant.
Any thoughts or similar experiences?
