Hi Kerrie,

Sorry to hear about your headache - they are no fun. Sounds like something bacterial to me from what you described, especially if you are not prone to headaches. While I'm not a nurse or doctor by any means, I do have quite a bit of experience with headaches as I have suffered for years with what are called cluster headaches. Luckily they have diminished with age for me but they do return from time to time. There are a couple of web sites that you may want to look at:
http://www.clusterheadaches.org (OUCH)
http://www.clusterheadaches.com

As per headache meds, there has only been one that has worked every time for me and it is an injector called Triptan. Unfortunately they don't easily dispense these and they can be expensive. The only other 95% effective relief I get is by using an ice pillow that is shaped like a horseshoe, contains an ice pack pouch, and you rest your neck area on the pillow.

I know that headaches can be a signal for something but it really depends upon the type of headache. And the type you are describing sounds like that of the migraine type or type that you might get if you had a slight case of food poisoning. At any rate, I hope you get to feeling better and that was your last headache for some time to come.

Best regards,

Gary
