I was just wondering, I went out yesterday and noticed Jack(Horse) had been peeing what looks like a orange colored urine. Bubba's is discolored too, but a darker gold color. It has been pretty cold here so I am guessing they layed off the water some and the urine is more concentrated. Also I have read that ammonium chloride is given to horses for kidney stones. Could not find a source mentioning how much to give though. Also I read that normal urine(cloudy) will turn color when oxidized by light causing the urine to look red or very dark, So your pony may be the one with the urine color and it is only showing up because I assume you have snow on the ground. The only thing it said was that it shouldn't be colored when it comes out, which there were symtoms listed for tying up,anemia and jaundiced horses. I hope this helps I got the info from Horse Owner's Veterinary Handbook .
