I have a 19 month old cashmere- nubian cross that I want to get castrated by a vet. I was advised by my vet I have to keep him from eating for one day before the proceedure. My problem is I do not have a separate enclosure to keep him in to keep him away from food. I can bring him to the vet a day ahead of time but then have to pay $75 for his "overnight stay"
What is your feeling the fasting, is it needed ? also, what if I just kept food away from him and the other two goats ( 3 yr boer buck and 1 year boer-nubian doe ) for one day.
