I am lucky enough to have a vet that knows goats pretty well, but she admits not to know it all, which I appreciate in someones attitude, leaves room for us to really ask questions without insulting the vet.
She raises Shetland Sheep which are more closely linked in similarities than cattle.
We really don't use PCN anymore in the goats. We use LA 200 still, but that is not as wonderful either. The 48 hour fast to me sounded too long, you certainly wouldn't want the goats rumen to shut down and I don't know how long that takes without food. Even for a dog having surgery, people too, it is less than 24 hours for fasting!!!
Glad it turned out ok, that is the main thing.
