Boy do I agree with Nat. Millions of 4H kids and the adults that run it can't be wrong. I have seen kids damage udders with their horns nursing their own dams. There is always the story about the child loosing an eye, or the goat hurting another goat. The biggest reason is attitude. Goats simply have a different attitude when they are disbudded at birth, and raised hornless. Not that your husband is going to care what a bunch of women think, but I also vote to take the horns off the adults this fall, after fly season, and to disbud the kids. The day you come home to a goat with its head stuck in the fence he will think differently. On the forums we are always hearing about folks who make ingenious inventions of wood with holes in it for the horns, tennis balls taped to horns, snipping the ends..........now how attractive is that?
