Hi Pam,
I have heard that some people do bleach their barn but one of the drawbacks is that you need to use Clorox and not a generic bleach. Some of the generic bleaches have ingredients other than what is in clorox (sodium hypochloride I believe).
Of coure the ammonia smell is not good for anyone or anything for too long (to breath). I seem to recall that being a reason to change goat bedding frequently.
On the other hand, alot of producers place a pan of bleach at the entrance of goat pens, barns, etc., making it necessary to step in upon entry into the pen or barn. This is supposed to cut down on transmitting certain viruses and diseases.
