I just got off the phone with my vet. I really love our vets, they are really great and also raise some of the most beautiful and healthiest goats I have ever seen.

This is what he told me about the Acorns..so go figure..He says he stops feeding grain all together once the acorns drop in the fall.he said that his goats have been eating them for years and absolutly no problems. He has heard of very few cases of goats getting acorn posioning or even dying from it in our area..So go figure.

He told me to continue to do what I was doing, which was feeding baking soda free choice and the veggie oil thing. He said the same thing Goat Mom said..he is probably gasping for breath because he is so bloated..but if it has gone down, that is a good sign..which it has..Also he suggested I worm again..We got into the worming conversation as we are using Panacure and he said that he is finding it becomming not very effective. He has switched on his own goats valbazon which is not approved for goats but he says it works great and also is good for tape worms? He said 1cc per 25lbs and then another dosage in 3 weeks or so or before we get ready to breed. Does anyone have any thought or comments on the Valbazon. Our vet has never steared us wrong, he has helped us in some sticky situations w/our goats..but I guess I would feel better w/other opinions (smile)

Oh by the way...I forgot to talk to him about the fluten corn...sheesh..sorry..
