Hi Tom,

I have heard of people feeding raisins and apples to goats before. I've fed our goats just about everything for a treat at one time but I'm not sure I would feed apples all the time. Apples have a tendency to produce alot of gas and could (I'm not saying they will) cause bloat. We feed stuff like carrots, squash and cucumbers to our goats in moderation. Another idea is perhaps to get some range cubes - 14% cattle cubes or something like that. These come as large pellets that our goats go crazy for. You don't want to feed anything right off the bat that has alot of protein because you can cause him to develop urinary calculi if you are not providing a feed that has ammonium chloride. But a few treats in moderation won't hurt. Enjoy your new buck. Give him some time and he will warm up to you when he sees that you are providing his food.

Best regards,
