I had tears in my eyes as I read your post. I feel so bad for your son. I also have a ten yr old son that is an animal lover. He raised a nubian doeling on a bottle and after she was weaned we sold her. He still talks about Jubilee and wonders how she is doing. I find that the life and death thing on the farm is a very rich experience. Our kids know what death is and do not take it lightly, but they do learn to accept it and deal with it. It is not easy sometimes when it is an especially favorite animal but I really wouldn't want to raise my kids any other way. It sounds to me like you and your husband are being very sensitive to your sons needs and he will after time be fine. Dalice
