I kind of like to use the train of thought with antibiotics with my goats as they do with humans. When a human is ill-treatment goes with the symptoms. High fever for a couple of days...antibiotics are in line. Now it is a game with humans as it is with goats as to what antibiotic to use. Unless you do a culture to find out what bacteria you are dealing with, and what antiobiotic the illness is sensitive to, you kind of do guess work as to what you think might work. If after using an antiobiotic for 48 hrs, and symptoms aren't showing signs of improvement, then it is time to change the antibiotic. So, you have won the game. I'm so happy your little goat is better.
